While clearing out their parental home on the Weesperzijde, the two daughters of Renée Stotijn discovered hundreds of hidden artworks and drawings. In the AT5 programme De Straten van Amsterdam, they showed how the art had been concealed in secret cupboards and a false ceiling. A staff member of the Beurs van Berlage saw the broadcast and immediately wanted to organise an exhibition.
